The Dimorian Royal Crest.

NOTE: This is the Royal Uniform worn only by members of the Royal Family, as signified by the Gold sash, in military service.

The standard uniform worn by non-royal officers lacks the gold strips, and the shoulder pads are silver.

Crew members and junior officers are signified by black shoulder pads.

The badge on the upper right chest is the emblem denoting military service in the Dimorian Naval Service.

The emblem on the sash signifies that the person is a member of the Dimorian Naval Directorate (Similar to the Department of Defense in the United States). If worn by an officer who is not a member of the Royal Family it would then be worn on the uniform, on the chest opposite of the DNS service badge.

The Royal Crest is inlaid in the belt buckle, again only worn by the Royal Family. The belt buckle would be inlaid with the DNS service badge for all active duty officers and crewmen. The inlaid would be the Dimorian Naval Directorate symbol for ranking officers in the Directorate. When multiples positions are held, the highest most rank or position is worn.

In the case of the Crown Prince, he is both of the Royal Family and the Naval Directorate. Royal status supersedes the Directorate, thus the Royal Crest is displayed in the belt buckle.

The societal structure of the Dimorian Empire, now known as the Dimorian Federation, has run the gambit, from socialism, to fascism, totalitarianism, to dictorships, to democracy and everything in between. Below is an excerpt from a history lecture given by Prince Zach Caldwell at the Naval Academy.

"By nature we are a peaceful people who are more interested in science, art, trade, business and the like. We were not always so. Our long history was a bloody one, as one house would fight another for control, power and resources. Kings and royal families often came and went in bloodshed."

"200 years ago an awakening began in my people. Part was due to the constant wars and loss of life, of family and friends. But also because some of our people began to manifest mental abilities. This lead to more complex social problems and out of fear and ignorance anyone found to have these mental abilities were hunted down, locked away, or cast out to fend for themselves, or killed out right. This eventually lead to the Great War. The war of the Telepaths and the normals. In the end the telepaths won, at great cost to both sides. A new monarchy was established by King Woren Der Soot. By his decree only telepaths could hold positions of power and authority and the normals were relegated to subservient roles. Again we entered into a period of conflicts and changes in regimes. Underneath all the turmoil and strife, there was a growing group of people, both telepath and normals who treated each other as equals and grew tired of the way of things and wars. They began working behind the scenes and gathered people and resources to the cause. Then 85 years ago, grandfather lead an all out revolt of the establishment and with support from the underground and the general public, the monarch was overthrown and all officials were arrested pending trial and work began to establish a provisional government."

"My grandfather was appointed as the new King of Dimorius. Under his leadership we began to lay the ground work for what is now modern day society. His decrees were met with joy and in some cases with viscous hatred. It was decreed that all people of Dimorius are equal and that no one was to be treated different becuase of their religion, ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, or mental abilities. Resources were diverted from the military into educational and social programs. Which lead us into an age of enlightenment and growth." A hint of sadness creeps into his voice as he continues.

"Some in the old regimes, who had escaped capture, saw the dawn of a new age as the death kneel of our society and that as a people and a society we would be doomed for our wickedness as they saw it. So they had conspired to assassinate my grandfather. In fact they had targeted the entire Royal family. As luck would have it, my Father and Mother were on the Island of Makapu enjoying their honeymoon when the attacks happened. When Father learned of the attack, he was able to get my mother to the Defiance, his flagship. From there he was able to mount a counter offensive. An offensive that would not have succeed had some of the Fleet Commander's obeyed orders from the Naval Directorate. The Navy had been told of the attacks and that the entire Royal family was dead and that the Defiance was in the hands of rebels attempting to pretend to be the heir apparent to the throne. As luck would have it, three of the five Fleet Commanders in orbit at the time, were close friends of my Father, who shared a secret code they had from childhood. That altered the balance of power and order was soon restored. The assassins were captured and executed along with several high ranking officials in the Naval and Intelligence Directorates. Soon my Father King Alexandar Caldwell formerly assumed the throne. Three years later I was born."

It was through the decrees of King Caldwell and public appeals by Queen Amadal Caldwell, that society would be forever changed, again. The King decreed that all persons were entitled to Food, Housing and Medical Care. This allowed for a system in which currency was no longer necessary. Society became more focused on the arts, science, trade, business, diplomacy and all areas of studies. All children were given an education in the basics of reading, writing and mathmatics followed by aptitude tests to determine natural interests and or abilities. No matter the result the student would be allowed to pick his or her educational path forward. A method that ensured that everyone would be able to work towards that which they truly had a talent or passion for. The result was a much happier and healthier people and society.

In exchange for these services every citizen is required to spend a tour of duty in the Naval Directorate. Four years active duty and two years in the reserves. No one is exempt from service, not even those with physical disabilities. Those convicted of minor crimes would also serve in the Naval Directorate, those who completed their service and then found guilty of a crime, would be forced into service for the duration of their sentence. Those convicted of violent crimes are denied serving in the Naval Directorate for life.

The crime rate throughout the Federation averages 15%. The low crime rate is largely contributed to the current structure of society. One does not need to cheat or steal if he or she has food, shelter, healthcare and education.

Each colonized planet in the Dimorian Federation is considered a state within the Federation and each is governed by a Lord. The Lord of each planet is appointed by the King and is charged with the security and protection of the planet and itself surrounding star system. The Lord is tasked with overseeing that any and all laws passed by the planetary governing body does not violate Federation or Royal Law. This is rarely an issue of concern as the social system issued by the King has proven successful on Dimorious Prime that it has been adopted by all member planets. There might be some regional differences, especially true for those planets that were colonized by a religious order. Know the law and regulations to wherever you travel.

Many of the noble families barely survived the Great War and some were even wiped out during the Revolutionary Uprising. Enough however remained that King Caldwell had to consent to the appointment of the remaining Noble houses to postings fo Planetary Lordships, in an effort to cement the peace. Hence in part the formation of the Intelligence Directorate, tasked with security, external and internal, of the entire Federation, with a keen eye on the nobal houses.
